Two statements:
“I am f*cking paying you, you should f*cking do your job.”
“We are the cheapest and fastest option out there, why are we struggling?”
We believe that employees simply want great pay, while the customer wants the best bargains. But nobody wants these things. What they want are the things it will get them — freedom, control, dignity, significance, feeling smart, etc.
People get paid and go ahead to buy the things that ‘make people respect them’. What if their bosses also respected them despite paying them? Imagine the impact! See how that applies to customers too? We need to pay attention to all the soft things and not focus only on the obvious needs. Then we start to care more and pay more attention, seeing how much it matters that we do.
