I set an ambitious goal last year but didn't achieve it. Napoleon Hill recommended daily affirmations, but I really didn’t do it consistently enough (not even close). But I also realized that even though I didn't reach my goal, I did more new things that year than ever and that put me in a better position to achieve the goal in the future.
This year, I'm being consistent with my affirmations (values, goals, wishes, and more) and I can already see the effect, both in ‘attracting’ success and inspiring my mind to find the will and ideas for the ‘deep work’ required.
And as the saying goes, sometimes you target the sun and reach the moon. Moving forward is what matters. Sometimes we may not reach our goals but we must continue to dream big, and not despair if we don’t hit our exact goals, once we make some progress.
MyLifeMap is coming this week
Maybe you want to affirm too but you don’t yet have your clear life goals to provide some inspiration on that. My partner, Onike Williams and I are launching Learnergy’s MyLifeMap this week. It is a development of a template we have been using for ourselves since last year, and we think you will find it helpful. Watch out.
Hoping for a better Nigeria
I can’t wait for the 25th of February. The air is thick with a lot of hope and possibility. The voice of the (majority of) young people is clear and here is my gentle reminder that it is possible. Let’s not wait only though, let’s talk to someone, and let’s convince more people. The Peter Obi victory is not in the bag yet, but we can’t get it there. Happy to announce that I have now convinced my mum who planned to sit at home to go out and vote on Elections Day, for PO’s Labour Party. Hurray 🎉 (Your parents? Hope you have secured their votes too?)
Sounds from Solomon Islands
Today, on #soundsofthewild (which is a global music exploration project I am on with some of my friends), we are exploring the Solomon Islands today. Do you even know that’s a country? Now you do. Follow me on Instagram to follow the video summaries and discover new music and cultures.
