The old, classic way is to do everything in the dark and launch to the public with a big bang. I run an agency and I know how excited we all get with unveiling videos and launches but the big reveals are gradually fading away (rightly so) as the first time you put out what you are working on.
The alternative approach is an engaging, work-in-progress sort of introducing stuff. Individuals and smaller businesses have a huge advantage with that, as they do not have to contend with the vulnerability of saying ‘we are not so sure, what do you guys think?’.
And if you don’t even have the budget for a big reveal in the first place, then it’s more reason you should be killing it with a more inclusive carry-me-along strategy, which mostly works better, unearths useful insights, and builds buy-in with your audience, while costing less. You can begin with a smaller subset while you reserve the ‘launch’ for your larger audience.
