Yes, you do not want to be sold to, but surely, you desire something significantly better than your status quo. If we see a friend simply trying to guide us along a journey of change while promising to take away some trouble and effort that would have come with it, then suddenly we are looking at a change agent and not a salesman.
The fact that we do not like salespeople is an additional reason we have to sell differently, caring about the change we can bring about, and not just the money we get in exchange.
