Recently, I had a conversation with Soji Oyemomi about the difference between entrepreneurs and visionaries. Our POV was that the more entrepreneurial ones know how to maximize opportunity and deliver financial success while the visionary ones are better at inspiring people within and without, to action.
Which is better? 'Both'.
The former may deliver profits but with a soulless business, while the latter will spur hearts and earn loyalty but the business may not last in delivering the promise. Great businesses need the full combination — of business and brand performance. While some CEOs are both, the ones solely enterprising would require visionary CBOs, while the more visionary ones often hire COOs.
Knowing where you lie is a good start.
